Bukhari through to U19 final

Second seed defeats Kumar 3-1 at Asian Junior Squash Championship.

Pakistan’s Ali Bukhari qualified for the Asian Junior Individual Squash Championship U19 final after defeating India’s Kish Kumar 3-1.


Second-seed Bukhari, who was runner-up to compatriot Danish Atlas in the previous edition, won with game scores of 13-11, 5-11, 11-6 and 11-9.

He will now face top-seed Ahmad al Saraj from Jordan, who defeated Pakistan’s Tayyab Aslam 11-9, 10-12, 11-5 and 11-7.

In other matches, Bilal Zakir lost his fifth place play-off against Kuwait’s Yousif Nizar Saleh 3-2, while Pakistan’s fourth player at the event Ammad Fareed won his ninth-place match, seeing off South Korea’s Young-Jo Ko 11-8, 7-11, 11-7 and 11-6.

In the girls U17 event, Madina Zafar finished 10th after losing to India’s Adya Advani in straight games 11-5, 12-10 and 11-4.
