Four people were killed and 18 injured on Friday in a collision between a truck-trailer and a passenger van on Satiana Road.

Rescue officials said the Okara-bound passenger van ran into the truck-trailer near Chak 77-GB. Three people died on the spot and 19 were injured. The injured were taken to Allied Hospital (10) and district headquarters hospital (9), where a woman later succumbed to her injuries. Doctors said five of the injured were in critical condition.

Two of the deceased were identified as Sawara,9, and Abdul Muiz, 4.

Manzoor Ahmad, one of the witnesses, told the police that the van driver had tried to overtake a truck twice.
