PESHAWAR: A man killed his father, mother and wife before committing suicide over a monetary dispute in Mathra on Tuesday.

Imtiaz, 30, who was a rickshaw driver, was involved in a dispute with his father over money.

After an argument, Imtiaz picked up a pistol and gunned down his family members, said Mathra police official Sajid Mumtaz.

Mumtaz said he was informed that Imtiaz had a dispute with his father Amanullah, adding the latter had bought a rickshaw for his son.

“Imtiaz was not giving Amanullah the money earned from the rickshaw, resulting in an argument between the two where Amanullah refused to allow his son to use the vehicle to earn a living.”

The police official added Imtiaz was infuriated by this. He shot his wife, mother and father before turning the weapon on himself and committing suicide.

Residents shifted the bodies to Lady Reading Hospital for autopsies while police filed an FIR.
