Trade corridor: NHA extending road network

World Bank team emphasised on the need for linking major industrial cities and agricultural centres

ISLAMABAD: “The National Highway Authority (NHA) is focusing on the National Trade Corridor extending the national highway, motorways and expressways up to neighbouring China, Iran, Afghanistan, India and also to Gawadar Port,” NHA Chairman Hamid Ali Khan said during a meeting with a World Bank team headed by Senior Urban Specialist Fatima Zahra Shah here on Tuesday. During the meeting matters relating to connectivity of roads with industrial cities and agricultural centres to improve access of farmers to markets, and cooperation with the World Bank, were discussed in detail. The World Bank team emphasised on the need for linking major industrial cities and agricultural centres with the national highway network, which will boost the economy of Pakistan.
