KALAM (MINGORA):

As the Swat Summer Sports Festival 2013 entered its third day on Saturday, local and international tourists continued to be fascinated by mesmerising displays.

The festival has been organised by the Army in collaboration with the K-P government at two venues, Ushu Forest and Mahodand. The tourists and locals urged the government to hold such festivities across K-P and Fata in future to help improve the image of Swat worldwide.

The festival features adventure sports, cultural events and a funfair. Among the sports are a tent pegging tournament, paragliding, bungee jumping, rock climbing, rafting, archery, a dirt bike rally and a marathon.

Khattak and Chitral dance performances added a traditional touch, as did the handicrafts and pottery stalls. A funland for children has also been developed to enable them to engage in healthy sports activities.
