Ali Bakkar, one of the prime suspects in the murder of gangster Arshad Pappu, was also allegedly involved in the kidnapping prior to the murder of Arshad Pappu.
Officials seized hand grenades, drugs and other weapons from the suspects’ possession. The suspects were also shown on television with bags covering their faces.
Police recovered the bodies of gangster Arshad Pappu and his brother Arfat in the Lyari area of Karachi on March 17.
Pappu, as he is commonly known, was one of the key players in the Lyari gang wars.
He was arrested in 2006 but was released on bail in the 60-something cases against him last year.

They should arrest uzair Baloch , zafar langda, baba ladla , jaingo and other big names of lyari gang war. Ali baqar is just on daily wages of gangs.
Why pakistani police presents these people with thier face covered is beyond any comprehension. I do not think this is practiced any where else in the world. If police arrests someone thier names and identities should be public information.
Have patience. They will be set free soon by PPP.
Just to make mqm fool to join govt.
And pretty soon these will all be released... Free to rein terror in the city!
IK said is very well.... No party with arms wings would be willing to curb this menace in Karachi as they will always have vested interests.
So this operation was to arrest the killer of Arshad pappu (a gangster) but no operations to arrest to those who killed innocent civilians of our country.
