KARACHI:
Even Superman himself would have found it difficult to control the excited children who had turned up on Wednesday at the Atrium Cinemas to see the superhero in action.
At the premiere of ‘Man on Steel’, the reboot of the Superman film series, frazzled parents could be seen running behind their children who could not wait to slip into the cinema. But the movie didn’t just attract the young crowd - when director Christopher Nolan worked his magic on the Batman series, he turned the Dark Knight into a darker and grittier character. A lot of people are now hoping that Nolan, who has teamed up with director Zack Snyder, has brought back the lost magic of Superman.
Though the premiere started late, the crowd enjoyed their heart out by applauding as their favourite celebrities, including Shehzad Roy and Asim Qureshi, walked on to the red carpet. Judging by the size and reaction of the crowd at the premiere, it seems as if people can’t get enough of the new version of the superhero.”Superman is my favourite! I watch the cartoons and love them,” said an excited Zaman, as he raised his arms up in the air to imitate the superhero.
Imad Butt, who is an avid fan of the Man of Steel, could barely contain his excitement as he waited to see the superhero fly on the big screen. “Superman movies are great. I’ve watched the part which was released in 2006 and I really hope this movie picks up from where the last one ended.”
Some children also posed for pictures in front of the large posters bearing pictures of Superman in his iconic blue costume. Ashar, who couldn’t get his hands on a ticket, said he’d stand in line again to see the movie. “I wish this premiere was open to the public. I guess I’ll just watch the movie tomorrow... I am not going to miss it.”

@Anti Denialist: Perhaps Imad Butt is a kid. Cut him some slack. Not every one is a Kryptonian geek!

An avid fan who doesn't know that Man of Steel has no connections with any previous Superman films? More like a wannabe 'kewwl' fan.
@Mubashir: Only inept wait for a superhero or a savior. Even if he comes you will always be dependent on him. Its better to stand up on your own feet ,take responsibilities and be the super hero you want to see.
Great movie.. Good mix of technology, stunts and human emotions...
It wouldn't be bad if we get a Superhero for our Country. God knows we need one!
