Victim testifies in Sanghar rape case

Narrates ordeal of torture, abuse before court

A significant development has emerged in the Shad Bano Mallah rape case from the Chotiyari area of Sanghar. The complainant, Shad Bano Mallah, was produced before the court under strict security arrangements, where she recorded her detailed statement under Section 164.

Shad Bano was brought to court under the supervision of JIT member DSP Zakaria Korejo, with tight security in place. In her statement before the court, she made serious revelations, alleging that on January 20 and 21, 2026, the accused, Wazir Rajar, entered her home at gunpoint and forcibly took her to his farmland.

She stated that the accused subjected her to severe physical violence and sexual assault. During the ordeal, he allegedly cut her tongue with a blade and inflicted injuries across her body. Shad Bano told the court that when she pleaded to the accused about her upcoming marriage, he became enraged. After the assault, she said, the accused slashed her face with a blade, inflicted further injuries, and threatened her, saying: "If you cannot be mine, I will not let you belong to anyone else." According to her testimony, the accused later dropped her near her home on a motorcycle before fleeing.

Speaking to the media, DSP Korejo said that investigations into the case are being conducted strictly in accordance with legal requirements.
