"The search operation continued for over 55 hours," said Naseem Siddiqui, Express News correspondent.
"One of the two houses that were raided was registered under MQM's chief name," reported Siddiqui.
A Money Laundering Squad was also present during the search operation.
Siddiqui reported that no arrests were made during the search.
Imran Farooq, a founding member of the MQM, was attacked nearly three years ago as he returned home from work in September 2010. He died from multiple stab wounds and blunt trauma to the head, according to a post-mortem examination.

@Raj USA I beg to differ. If "registered' means that he owns the property, then what this article is saying is that he owns at least two houses, this one and the one he lives in. The British government would not have given him welfare if he had two properties.

Rest assured: If Altaf Hussian is found to be culpable, the British judicial system will punish him. But he is just a part of the problem. The other end consists of his agents in Karachi who cause havoc in society. Who's going to take care of that end? The PPP which protected that end is back in power in Sindh. No wonder the MQM is dying to join that government. The federal government should put its foot down hard. It might not do that, though, because those who constitute it were once in cahoots with the MQM, too, making it probable that the MQM has some secretes that the government in Islamabad might be uncomfortable with. I think soom Altaf 'Bhai' will be renouncing his British citizenship. As the Nato wraps up the failed project in AFPak, it no longer will need resources like Altaf Hussain. Pakistanis should get ready to welcome him home soon.

Situation is very scary. If someone from the top leadership is indicted in the killing of Dr. Imran Farooq what will be the situation in Karachi ....... again endless strikes and loss of billions as a result. Now since PPP is not in power in the center so will the siting PM be able to defuse the situation? Anyhow, who ever is involved in this murder should be tried according to the law. It is Scotland Yard Police and not our politicized police who only work for their masters and their interests.
Imran Farooq was reported to be developing his own new direction in politics. Who could have suffered with rise of founding member of MQM Imran Farooq? Those very forces might have been involved in his brutal murder. Justice should be done.
