NEW DELHI: It seems like it’s become a habit for Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan to be awarded the number one position no matter what the category is. According to a Father’s Day poll conducted by India’s most popular matrimonial website Shaadi.com, SRK, a doting dad of son Aryan and daughter Suhana, has been voted India’s most popular father. What comes as a surprise is that he managed surpass megastar Amitabh Bachan, who was also nominated.
The results of the poll that were collected from over 11,000 Indian women have been a day ahead of Father’s Day which is supposed to be celebrated June 16, worldwide. The award-winning actor won with 38.43% votes followed by Amitabh Bachan with 31.58% votes. The world renowned Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar took the third spot with 18.61% votes.
“The poll showcases some of the most successful Indian men whose love and dedication also makes them popular fathers. This suggests that people are looking at celebrities as real people with real relationships,” said Gourav Rakshit, COO of Shaadi.com.
The poll also asked some other questions to the respondents such as the most popular father-daughter father-son duos. As per the results of the survey, Big B took the top slot along with his daughter Shweta (wife of businessman Nikhil Nanda) as having the country’s best father-daughter relationship. Mr Bachan and her daughter were followed by veteran actor Jeetendra and producer-daughter Ekta Kapoor, with 35.06% votes. Evergreen actor Anil Kapoor stood third alongside daughter Sonam Kapoor with 22.42% votes.
Despite the fact that Bollywood movies are currently buzzing with father-son duos such as Rishi Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor and Amitabh and Abhishek Bachan, SRK yet again bagged the number one position of India’s most popular father-son duo with son Aryan. He won with 44.85% votes.

I don't see any sense in this. One has to be a good father and that is enough. Instead Syed Noor looked more smart on Jung Sunday magazine with his son. Despite of that he cannot be termed as popular.
