KARACHI:

The Sindh High Court issued notices on a plea accusing a Hindu priest of carrying out illegal constructions in Soldier Bazaar temple.

Muhammad Ashfaq Khan Ghori had taken the local government department, the Sindh Building Control Authority, the director for katchi abadis and Maharaj Ram Nath to court.

On Wednesday, he alleged that Maharaj Ram Nath, who is a priest at the Hanuman Mandir, had encroached upon 500 square yards of open spaces in Mehtab Colony and was carrying out unauthorised constructions in connivance with the officials. He had pleaded the court direct the building control officials take action against such constructions.

Justice Ahmed Ali M. Sheikh, while heading the bench, issued notices to the respondents to file their comments by June 25.
