Trend File: Bold in Black

Although summers are more about bright colours and fresh prints, celebrities and socialites are all determined to beat the heat with the hot and happening black!

While word has it that white is the new black, a monochrome black dress with daring fabrics, flowy silhouettes and oh-so-sexy designs is anything but safe. Be it our very own Safinaz Muneer in an East-cum-West black printed ensemble or Bollywod’s style icon Sonam Kapoor, in a structured black peplum top and pants, everybody seems to be flaunting the hottest hue of this season with pure elegance.



The upside of wearing black is that no matter how you wear it – sheer maxi, lace dress, tuxedo fit or an LBD – it is bound to make you look slim and totally cutting-edge. If you feel wearing black in such warm temperatures is a death call, pair it up with its new best friend – white. So, anybody who thinks that black is not fashion forward, is highly mistaken. If there is any specific time to make a strong statement by sporting a black outfit, it is now.
