Mehfl-e-mushaira: Poetry symposium at Hazara University

They recited verses in Urdu and Hindko much to the appreciation from all those in attendance.

ABBOTTABAD: The Literary Society of Havelian campus of Hazara University arranged a Mehfl-e-Mushaira on Wednesday with poets from different parts of Hazara participating at the event.

They recited verses in Urdu and Hindko much to the appreciation from all those in attendance. Speaking on the occasion, campus coordinator Dr Ayub Jadoon said Hazara University was utilising its resources for the promotion of not only Urdu but also local Hindko literature. He said following the initiation of an Urdu department at Hazara University’s main Garden Campus, the Havelian campus would soon follow suit.

Poets who presented their work on the occasion included Saeed Naz, Sohail Sameem, Saqib Khan, Amraiz Qamar, Irfan Tabbasum, Saadullah Suraj, Awais Khalid, Ajmal Nazir, Zakirur Rehman, Qazi Nasir Bakhtiar, Umer Ali Dayem, Riaz Tahir, Asim Shehzad, Sherdil and Kashif Zia.
