Attack on Rangers office in Karachi injures 8 personnel

According to police reports, two explosives were thrown, of which only one exploded.

KARACHI: At least eight Rangers personnel were wounded in an attack on their office near Nazimabad in Karachi on Wednesday.

According to initial police reports from SHO Faryad Bhatti, two unidentified men threw an explosive device into the offices of Rangers 81 wing just as the personnel were busy having their evening meal. The attackers fled after the attack.

None of them could be arrested till the filing of the report.

The officer said that the injured personnel were immediately shifted to nearby Rangers Hospital for medical treatment, where doctors described their condition as out of danger.

SHO Bhatti said that at least two explosives were thrown inside the wing, of which only one exploded.

Bomb Disposal Squad was called to ascertain if the explosives were locally made.

No case has been registered so far.
