DERA GHAZI KHAN:

An additional sessions judge on Tuesday sentenced former MPA Mir Badshah Khan Qaiserani to two years in prison for having a fake degree.

The parliamentary leader was also ordered to pay a Rs5,000 fine.  Qaiserani was arrested from the court. The judge had been hearing the case since April 1.

He had summoned the Jam Shoro University registrar and the examinations controller at the previous hearing.

On Tuesday, the two university employees told the court that Qaiserani’s degree had not been issued by the university.

The judge ordered for extension of jail term by a month if the fine was not paid.
