Test Cricketer Yasir Hameed has decided to take legal action against the British tabloid News of the World.

According to reports Yasir Hameed has told PCB Chairman Ijaz Butt about his intentions. Hameed has also sought permission from Butt to file a defamation case against the newspaper.

The News of the World had published reports about Hameed stating that the Pakistani cricket team is involved in match fixing. A video of that allegedly showed Hameed talking to a News of the World reporter was also released.

However, the cricketer denied having made the allegations and said he had never given an interview to the News of the World.
