KHANEWAL:

District Coordination Officer (DCO) Mahmood Hassan on Wednesday said habitual absentee teachers did not deserve leniency.

The DCO ordered monitoring officials to prepare a list of absentee teachers along with their past record so that disciplinary measures could be initiated against them.

He stressed the desirability on 100 per cent attendance and ordered issuance of show cause notices to principals and teachers of the schools where attendance was less than 50 per cent.

Hassan also sought a report on schools that had been closed.
