ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Tahir Shahbaz on Tuesday announced that a special fund of Rs6 million had been allocated to the civic agency’s Water Management Wing for the repair of off-road water tankers and procurement of new tyres in order to resolve the capital’s water shortage issue.

Shahbaz said that the CDA would be purchasing new generators and shifting existing ones installed at the civic agency’s offices to tube wells to ensure a smooth supply of water in the I and G sectors. Residents of various sectors complained that they had been afflicted by shortages for the past two weeks, worsened by the scorching temperatures.
