Wrong side, wrong time: Four Pabbi police officials injured

Four officials were wounded and the truck’s driver appeared to be a drug addict.

PABBI: Four police officials were injured when their van collided with a mini truck on GT Road near Taza Din Kandi area of Pabbi, Nowshera Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred at around 1:30am when police officials were patrolling the area in a van on the wrong side of the road. Pabbi police official Ijaz Khan said the van was heading back to the police station from Nowshera when a speeding trucker lost control and collided with the van. Four officials were wounded, he said, claiming the truck’s driver appeared to be a drug addict. The injured officials informed the on-duty personnel at the police station, who rushed to the site and shifted them to Mian Rashid Shaeed Memorial Hospital, Pabbi. The wounded were admitted there for bone fractures and identified as Head Constable Ghani Rahman, constables Murad and Asadullah and driver Dilshad. Ijaz said the accused driver of the truck escaped following the incident. The vehicle was impounded and a case has been registered.
