A woman was stabbed to death on Monday allegedly by her husband over property.
Police said Ahsan Ahmed, a resident of Sukheke’s Aliabad Colony, had been unemployed for several years. They said he was also a drug addict. They said Ahmed had been telling his wife to transfer the five-kanal land that she had inherited from her parents to him. Both of them frequently quarreled over this.
On Monday, police said, they had an argument again and Ahmed stabbed her several times. A case was registered on the complaint of the woman’s father Raza Hassan, who told police that Ahmed had beaten her in the past and demanded that she transfer her land to him.
The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
Police say Ahmed has been missing.
