SUKKUR: After being missing for more than two weeks, P*, a member of the Jogi clan and her 10-month-old daughter returned home, ending the turmoil that had hit Thari Mir Wah because of tension between the Jogi and Shar clans.

The woman and her daughter were allegedly kidnapped by Jawed Ahmed Shar and his accomplices on May 11. Her family initially thought she went to visit her parents at their residence in Karachi. When they couldn’t trace her there, they accused a member of the Shar clan, Jawed Ahmed Shar, of kidnapping her. This sparked tensions between the two clans and fighting broke out, during which two members of the Jogi clan, Nisar aka Papoo and Suhail, were injured.

The fight between the two clans led to closure of businesses and also delayed school exams. But on Sunday, after eight days of shutdown, businesses reopened. Meanwhile, police officials suspended and transferred Thar Mir Wah DSP Fida Hussain Dahar and SHO Ghulam Shabbir Jamali for their failure to control the law and order situation.

Talking to The Express Tribune, Khairpur city ASP Masood Ahmed Bangash confirmed that P* was with Pakistan Peoples Party MPA-elect Pir Fazal Shah Jillani of Ranipur on Sunday morning and will be returned to the family by evening. Haji Roshan Jogi, a relative of P*, said that they will go to Jillani and bring her back.
