A bailiff raided Sohrab Goth police station on Tuesday and released a labourer, Muhammad Jameel, who was being held in wrongful confinement.
The police failed to produce any concrete evidence to justify his detention. The SHO and duty officer were directed to appear before the district and sessions court on May 22 (today).
The complainant, Muhammad Usman, filed an application against the law enforcers saying that his nephew was illegally arrested by the police last night and the officials were demanding a huge sum for his release.
