FAISALABAD:

A court bailiff recovered a man from the illegal detention of Gulfishan police on Sunday.

The action was taken on a petition filed by Khurram Shehzad, a resident of Sana Park.

The petitioner had appeared before District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Rasheed Qamar on Saturday. He had said that the Gulfishan police post in charge, Assistant Sub Inspector Saeed Anwar, had arrested one of his relatives, Ghulam Ghaus, without any reason a few days ago.

He said he and his relatives had visited the police several times, but were returned. He had requested the court to order a court bailiff to recover the detained man.

The judge had appointed a bailiff, who raided the police post and recovered Ghaus. The police was told to produce record of the arrest. The police had nothing to show.

Ghaus was released. ASI Anwar has been summoned before the court on Monday (today).
