KARACHI:

Red-coloured Chinese flags adorned the halls of the Karachi Press Club on Saturday where members of the Pak-China Foundation held a press conference in anticipation of Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang’s visit on Wednesday.

The president of the foundation, Kaleem Khan, said that the arrival of the Chinese premier was an honour for the country, adding that the official purpose of the visit was the handover of the Gwadar Port.  Khan said that Chinese language schools must open not only in Gwadar, but all over the country.

Pak-China Foundation chairperson and actress, Zeba Bakhtiar, said that she had grown up hearing about Pak-China friendship. “I want to strengthen ties between the two allies and make a china town in Karachi.” A Chinese representative, Sally, said that she had never felt out of place in Pakistan.
