Army to supervise NA-250 re-elections in Karachi

Re-polling is to be carried out in 43 polling stations of NA-250.

KARACHI: Pakistan Army is set to be deployed at 43 polling stations of NA-250, PS-112 and PS-113 Karachi ahead of re-polling on May 19, Express News reported early on Saturday.

An Inter-services Public Relations (ISPR) release said that troops will be deployed in the constituency. Their presence is to ensure peaceful atmosphere for voting.

Express News correspondent Ahmed Mansoor said that more than 10,000 army personnel were present in the city during the May 11 elections, but this week's deployment will be significantly less in number.

According to official sources, polling will be held at those stations where complaints of rigging and irregularities  were reported.

ECP has finalised polling arrangements and announced the polling stations for which where re-elections will occur: 4, 7, 11, 48, 52, 56, 57, 58, 60, 62, 78,97, 98, 100, 101, 104, 106, 109, 110, 113, 114, 115, 117, 121, 122,131, 135, 136, 137, 139, 140, 141, 142, 143, 144, 148, 157, 165, 168,175, 177, 179 and 180.

The re-polling will start at 8am and continue till 5pm.

why Army has not supervised the whole elections. shame on ECP for poor conducting the elections. you people don't deserve to be on the jobs, resign and leave pakistan
