Seven second year students at the Punjab College were arrested on Wednesday after they protested against the principal and questioned a charge on roll number slips.
Cases were registered against 25 others, including 15 unidentified students, for allegedly trying to damage school property.
Those arrested were identified as Babar Riaz, Muhammad Moazzam, Shoaib Ranjha, Luqman Cheema, Malik Bilal Yaseen, Fahad Shafiq Khokar and Muhammad Irfan.

More students and some parents, including those of the arrested students, later protested in front of the Saddar police station.
They said that private colleges were already charging a lot. They said the BISE did not charge any money from students at the time the slips were received. They asked why the principal was charging a fee.
They said the principal knew that the students needed the slips and so was apparently taking advantage of them just ahead of the examinations.

The students will be sitting the intermediate examinations given by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education that are scheduled to begin on the 18th.
The protesting students said that they had staged a peaceful sit-in at the college but the principal had called police and ordered the guards to attack the students with batons.
They said the students were falsely accused of trying to force into the principal’s office.
The parents demanded that the arrested students be released immediately as they were to sit the exams in a few days. They said the principal had put their academic year on stake “for a few thousands of rupees”.
They demanded that the Education Department take notice of the incident and order the principal to withdraw the false case against the students.
The protesters also demanded better regulation of private schools and colleges.
The school principal was not available for comments.
