Street crime: Three shot dead by unidentified assailants

Before passers-by rushed to their rescue, the men were already dead.

Three men were shot dead on Wednesday by unidentified assailants in two incidents in the city.


In the first incident, Factory Area police said that Muhammad Zubair and his brother-in-law Shaukat Ali were injured after two men on a motorcycle shot at them in New Nazimabad.

The assailants fled the scene. Before passers-by rushed to their rescue, the two men were already dead.

Muhammad Husain, a witness, told police that the two motorcyclists shot several times in the air before they fled. Station House Officer Mazhar Husain Shah said that the bodies were sent for a post-mortem examination.

He said a case had been registered on the complaint of Zubair’s brother, Muhammad Aamir.

The SHO said that the incident seemed to be a case of enmity.

Elsewhere, two unidentified assailants fatally shot Raheel Ahmad, a resident of Gul Bahar Colony in Batala Colony police area.

Station House Officer Sub Inspector (SI) Saeed Anwar said that Ahmed was on his way home when two men shot him and fled.

He was taken to district headquarters hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

A case was filed on the complaint of the father of the deceased. No arrests were made in any of the cases.
