Election Commission announces re-polling dates for 5 seats

Re-polling to be held at select polling stations of 3 national assembly seats, 2 provincial seats.

The Election Commission of Pakistan has announced re-polling dates for three National Assembly and two provincial assembly constituencies, Express News reported on Wednesday.

The re-polling comes as a result of complaints made my political parties. Different parties alleged that rigging took place on the day of general elections.

Re-polling will be held at select polling stations in NA-269 Khuzdar, NA-41 Tribal Area 6 [Birmal, Waha, Trikhel and Tiaraza tehsils of South Waziristan Agency] and NA-46 Tribal Area 11 [Bara Tehsil of Khyber Agency]. The provincial seats are PK-71 Bannu 2 and PK-72 Bannu 3.

The schedule is:

  • NA-41 – May 21

  • NA-46 – May 25

  • NA-269 – May 21

  • PK-71 – May 25

  • PK-72 – May 25

Paper is senseless ....I am 100 % in favour of electronic system. SInce the database of Thumb impression already exist with NADRA (supposedly) polling can be done electonically that way you can only vote once. Then we will still need Army to oversea the process that nobody is held at gun point at voting station.

Results will be out for each polling directly after the closing. No more waiting for counting and stuff.
