These allegations were raised by the Pakistan Muslim League - Quaid (PML-Q) Sindh president, Haleem Adil Sheikh, at a press conference at the Karachi Press Club on Monday.
Sheikh said that the May 11 elections were the worst in the history of Pakistan and the claims of the Election Commission of Pakistan regarding foolproof security had proved to be baseless as the ‘thappa mafia’ had sabotaged the mandate of the people across the country.

Sheikh said that the country was going towards anarchy while all the parties had confined their votes over nationalist agendas as Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz secured a majority in Punjab, Pakistan Peoples Party in Sindh and Muttahida Qaumi Movement in Karachi. None of these parties actually represented the federation, he claimed.
He went on to congratulate Nawaz Sharif for winning seats with the help of a fake mandate, adding that the same faces had come into power as a result of fake elections.
He also alleged that Nawaz Sharif’s rise to power again was some form of payback by the judiciary for his assistance in the movement for the restoration of the judiciary during General Musharraf’s tenure.
