They said Muhammad Kashif, a resident of Aroop village, was taken to Civil Hospital in the morning after he complained of severe chest pain. They said at the emergency ward, the doctors made them wait for more than an hour. They said they kept telling the doctor’s attendant that the patient was not feeling well, but he did not listen. By the time they were given a receipt for their turn to be checked, they said, Kashif had died.
The protesters demanded that the police register a case against the doctors. They tried to enter the emergency ward, but were stopped by the guards and paramedics. They later dispersed. The doctors said that the patient had suffered from liver dysfunction. They said he had already died before he was brought to the hospital.
