Mortar Shelling In Jamrud: Child killed, nine of a family injured

Khan and his family members were asleep when the incident occurred.

JAMRUD: A child was killed and nine others were injured when mortar shells fired from an unknown location landed on a house in Wazir Dhand, Jamrud tehsil. A child identified as Abid Hussain was killed while Hayat Khan, Abdul Shakoor, Muhammad Hussain, Nazia, Gul Nawaz, and five-year-old Rahmanullah along with three women were said to be severely injured. Asmatullah Wazir, an official of the Khyber Agency political administration, said khasadar personnel informed him early Monday morning that two shells had landed on a house in Wazir Dhand, after which he along with some khasadar officials rushed to the site. According to Wazir, the house belonged to a resident identified as Hayat Khan. Khan and his family members were asleep when the incident occurred. The house was destroyed and locals rushed to pull the injured from the rubble.
