With a total of 11,119 votes, Roheel Asghar Shaikh beat runner-up candidate PTI’s Waleed Iqbal.

LAHORE: According to unofficial results PML-N candidate Roheel Asghar Shaikh bagged NA-124 in Lahore.

With a total of 11,119 votes, Shaikh beat runner-up candidate PTI’s Waleed Iqbal, who scored just 3,289.

With the count continuing, Sharif's Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz is leading in 115 of the 272 National Assembly seats that were contested.

The petroleum ministry in March launched a crackdown on ‘influential gas thieves’ before the setting up of the caretaker government, during which raids were carried out on the mills of recently-elected PPP Punjab vice president Azizur Rehman Chan and PML-N MNA Roheel Ashghar Shaikh on the instructions of MD Sui Northern Pipelines Engineer Arif Hameed.
