KARACHI: The polling stations Bahria University and Ihteshamia Government School of NA-256 constituency witnessed well-organised and peaceful polling process, reported The Express Tribune correspondent Nida Ameen.

The voters registered at Bahria University polling stations were very few in number and it could be assumed that nearly all of them showed up.

The crowd was very helpful to each other providing umbrellas to beat the heat. However, most of the people complained about having separate lines for senior citizens. It took around 20 minutes for each person to cast a vote.

The ratio of women was higher than men and a few ladies were overheard saying that it was probably because of the discounts the retail outlets and restaurants were offering.

The polling hall was air-conditioned with proper seating arrangement.

Ihteshamia Government School

The polling at Ihteshamia Government School was rather disorganised with almost the same level of turnout. People ended up waiting for 2-3 hours in queues and some were even dehydrated.
