DASKA: A shopkeeper was shot and injured on Friday apparently by supporters of a candidate, police said. He was taken to a hospital, where doctors treating him said that his condition was critical. Saddar police said Muhammad Rafique, a Mandiki Goraya resident, had displayed PML-N posters at his shop. They quoted Rafique’s co-workers as saying that some PML-Q supporters had been telling Rafique to remove PML-N’s posters and threatening to kill him if he did not. On Friday, police said, some men visited his shop and shot him. Police said they were looking for the suspects.
