PESHAWAR: Governor Shaukatullah Khan toured the old city on Friday, urging citizens to exercise their right to vote.

Keeping in view the deteriorating law and order in the region, apprehensions have already been voiced by the civil society and political parties for a low turnout today. “I am here to tell you that we all stand together and will cast our votes with peace of mind,” he remarked.  “The government is sparing no effort to ensure that the process is done peacefully and smoothly,” the governor said, trying to dispel fears on the eve of elections. While talking to the media at Khyber Bazaar, he assured that ‘foolproof’ security arrangements have been made. He also praised the Pakistan Army for their role to conduct peaceful elections.
