The Home and Tribal Affairs Department has issued instructions to all public and private sector universities in the province that when they are arranging visits for foreigners, the vice chancellor of the university should inform the department in advance.

A security cover and/or an escort must be provided for all foreigners, said a press release issued on Sunday. The security of foreigners is the primary responsibility of the provincial government, it added.

The directives were also issued in May last year, but universities did not adhere to it.
