Awareness seminar: ‘Consumer satisfaction should be top priority’

ICCI president stressed to develop a culture, where laws regarding consumers’ rights are implemented and not just made

President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI), Zafar Bakhtawari, has said that consumer satisfaction should be the top priority of every business.


He was speaking at a seminar “Energy Sector Regulation and Consumer in Pakistan” organised by the ICCI in collaboration with The Network for Consumer Protection on Friday.

Bakhtawari also stressed to develop a culture, where laws regarding consumers’ rights were implemented and not just made.

He said that the ICCI would organise press conferences in the future to put a proper check on spiraling prices of necessary items during Ramazan.

He said that the ICCI would extend full cooperation to The Network in promoting awareness about consumer rights among the business community and the consumers.

The ICCI president said that the government should take businessmen on board while formulating consumer protection laws so that such laws could be developed with consensus.

Speaking on the occasion, The Network Executive Coordinator, Nadeem Iqbal, said that The Network was working on consumer’s rights through raising awareness among the business community as well as consumers.
