Harmful Plea: Prisoner cuts himself

GUJRANWALA: A prisoner jailed for dacoity injured himself with a blade over not being transferred to another barrack as he had requested.

Javed Akhtar had been in a brawl a few days ago, following which he was transferred to another barrack. On Thursday, he requested Jail Superintendent Hafiz Azizullah to send him back to the barrack he had been in. On the latter’s refusal, he injured himself with a blade. Talking to The Express Tribune, Azizullah said Akhtar was a hardened criminal. He said a suicide attempt case had been registered against him with the Satellite Town police.
