Countdown: Political hustle bustle everywhere

Portraits and stickers of different political leaders can be noticed on vehicles and buildings.

ISLAMABAD:

As May 11 approaches, political hustle and bustle is seen in every nook and corner of the twin cities with almost every wall, street and building being festooned with colourful party flags and banners.     

In Islamabad corner meetings, political camps and rallies have become a routine matter and the coming elections are being billed as historic that feature the first ever smooth transition from one democratic government to another.

A brief market survey of people indicated that the final showdown is going to be held between the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, the Pakistan People’s Party and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz not just in the twin cities, but across the country.

Portraits and stickers of different political leaders including Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif, Benazir Bhutto, Imran Khan, Sheikh Rashid, Hanif Abbasi and others could easily be noticed on rickshaws, wagons, Suzuki pickups, cars and private buses.
