Even if today the JUI-F leadership decides to take back its decision, I will join them again, says Khan.

SWABI:

Former MPA and senior provincial leader of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) in Swabi resigned over the party’s seat-adjustment with the Qaumi Watan Party (QWP).

“Even if today the JUI-F leadership decides to take back its decision and hold rallies for the Lal Masjid victims, I will join them again with the same zeal and passion,” said ex-MPA Haji Abdul Majid Khan during a press conference in Swabi on Thursday.

Khan was elected as MPA from the Awami National Party in 1988 and 1997 polls, but in 2001 he joined the JUI-F and was elected as MPA in the 2002 polls.

The former parliamentarian said he had been planning on leaving the JUI-F since 2008 over his problems with the district leadership, but he stayed because of former chief minister Akram Khan Durrani.

Khan alleged that during senate elections, JUI-F awarded tickets to candidates who were neither in the party nor associated to it including female candidate, Azam Khan Swati and Talha Mehmood,

He added he has not decided which party he would join next. “I have never asked for a ticket, every party trusted me and awarded me a ticket,” he said.
