KARACHI: President Asif Zardari said on Monday that Pakistan supports all efforts to facilitate a peaceful Syrian-led solution, meeting the democratic aspirations of the Syrian people through a political dialogue involving the Syrian polity, government and the opposition groups.
The president said this while speaking to Syria’s Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad who called on him at Bilawal House on Monday.
The president said that Pakistan believes that Syria’s territorial integrity must be respected and outside interference will have serious consequences for the neighboring countries.
Pakistan is ready to play its role in finding a peaceful solution of the Syrian crisis, he added.
