Who you let in: Overnight guests flee with host’s car

Three more vehicles were also reported stolen elsewhere.

A man’s car was stolen on Thursday allegedly by four men who were visiting him for a night. Police said some guests from Faisalabad arrived at Faiz Muhammad’s house in Zia Town on Wednesday night.


They said he knew them through an acquaintance in Faisalabad and offered them to stay overnight. In the morning, they said, when Muhammad went to their room, they were gone. They said they had also taken his car. Muhammad told police that he had been calling the men, but their cell phones were all switched off.

In Noshera Wadison, a patient’s motorcycle was stolen from in front of the tehsil headquarters hospital on Takbeer Chowk.

Mohsin Nawaz told police that he had parked it on the roadside near the hospital and gone to buy some medicines from a pharmacy. He said when he came back after a few minutes, his motorcycle was missing. He said he had asked people around if they had noticed someone take it, but no one had.

Elsewhere, in Sadhoke, unidentified men took away the car of a former union council nazim from in front of a campaign office.

Police said Kamran Virk parked his car (FDZ-3944) in front of the office of Chaudhry Abdullah Virk, a candidate for NA-99, and went in. When he came out after some time, they said, his car was missing.

Tauliki village resident Anjum Bashir’s motorcycle had also been stolen.
