Lynched brothers’ second autopsy put off

SIALKOT: Civil Judge Abu Bakar Siddique put off the second autopsy of the lynched brothers, Mugheez and Muneeb Butt, which was scheduled to be held on Wednesday on the plea of the victims’ family who had filed a writ petition.

The second postmortem of the slain teenage brothers was to be conducted at the Imam Sahib Graveyard in Sialkot under the supervision of a special medical board comprising senior doctors.

The judge also ordered the provincial health secretary to formulate a special medical board. Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry had expressed dissatisfaction over the first autopsy, saying the police and doctors had tried to conceal the facts.

Meanwhile, the anti-terrorism court in Gujranwala has adjourned the hearing of a bail plea of suspended former District Police Officer (DPO) Waqar Chouhan till September 25. The hearing was adjourned because of an incomplete record of the case and absence of the complainant. (Additional input from Agencies)
