The All Pakistan Clerks’ Association on Wednesday staged a protest rally over the kidnapping of a Rural Health Centre (RHC) doctor and two others including his son.

On April 8, Dr Khan Wazeer of Zahirpir RHC was abducted along with his son, Shahzeb, and a dispenser, Malik Nazir, by unidentified men when they were travelling from Lahore to Multan by their car.

The three men remain missing. Speaking at the rally, APCA general secretary Nadeem Khan Durrani condemned the kidnapping and demanded that the men be recovered.

Some of the protestors met the District Coordination Officer (DCO) Khalid Saleem, who assured them that the missing men would be recovered soon. The rally from General Post Office Chowk to DCO’s Office then concluded, and the protestors dispersed.

Separately, a Pakistan Telecommunication Corporation Limited (PTCL) sub-divisional officer went missing on Tuesday.

Muhammad Kashif, a resident of Khanpur, told the police that his brother in law, Shafqat, worked for PTCL. He said Shafqat had left for office on Tuesday and had been missing ever since. He said he had been trying to contact Shafqat but his phone was off.

Sadiqabad Saddar police have registered a kidnapping case and started the investigation.
