SARGODHA: A blast was heard in the cantonment area near Tariqabad in Sargodha on Thursday evening.

No damage or casualties were reported, while the police cordoned off the area.

According to Express 24/7 correspondent Ghulam Mohiuddin the blast might not be an explosion at all but rather a break in the sound barrier maybe due to an aircraft.

However, the area has been declared sensitive due to the presence of education and administrative institutions.

Markets were shut down as panic gripped the area. Rescue 1122 were also dispatched to the site.

Sargodha was also the target of a suicide blast in July when a suicide bomber targeted an Imambargah.
