KARACHI: Approximately $1.1 billion worth of medicines were imported by Nigeria from Pakistan in 2012, Pakistani envoy in Nigeria Ahmed Ali Sirohey has said. He was addressing a reception hosted by the Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (PPMA) South Chairman Nadeem Chandna. Sirohey said this was an appropriate time for PPMA to expand the market for its pharmaceutical products in Nigeria. “The environment is extremely conducive and our country’s drugs and pharmaceutical manufacturers must take advantage of it,” said Sirohey. The Pakistani diplomat, on behalf of the embassy, also assured all assistance and services to Pakistani exporters.
