FAISALABAD:

Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid Chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain says he fears that the general elections will not bring any change in the situation Pakistan is facing if people do not vote for honest politicians.

Talking to reporters on Tuesday, Hussain said that seeing the people of Pakistan becoming smarter and conscious of their future made him happy.“Hollow slogans of laptops, metro buses and roti, kapra and makan do not work any longer.”

He said that the Election Commission needed to explain its ban on providing transport to voters. He said it would be very difficult for voters to make it to the polling stations in hot weather if transport was not provided.

The PML-Q chief, however, appreciated ECP-ordered transfers in bureaucracy, saying it would help in conducting fair and transparent elections.

He was visiting Faisalabad to attend the funeral of Sunni Ittehad Council chairman Sahibzada Fazle Karim.
