Strict Measures: Snipers deployment to curb killings

Intelligence units of police to collaborate to arrest the criminals responsible for the killings.

KARACHI: Sindh Additional IGP Ghulam Shabbir Shaikh has directed the deployment of police snipers and sharp shooters in all sensitive areas in order to curb the increasing incidents of target killings in recent days. Presiding over a meeting at the Central Police Office on Monday, Shaikh has asked all intelligence units of police department to collaborate with each other to arrest the criminals responsible for the killings of police officers, Rangers personnel and city wardens. Shaikh also came hard on the SHOs, who had allegedly delayed registering FIRs in their respective areas. He further directed the investigation officer and SHOs to jointly prepare the reports of target killing incidents.
