BANNU: Five persons, including a station house officer (SHO), were killed and six others sustained injuries in aerial firing at a wedding ceremony on Thursday.
According to a police official, the wedding ceremony of Manzoor, brother of SHO City Police Station, Zeenatullah Jan, was in progress in Mohallah Abkari when armed persons arrived and opened fire to celebrate the occasion.
SHO Zeenatullah Jan, Waqas, Muhib, Hamid and Aftab were killed on the spot while Muhammad Ashfaq, Murad Ali, Imran, Neikbawar, Ahmed and Manzoor sustained injuries.
The injured were rushed to the DHQ Hospital.
