SWABI: Differences between the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Awami National Party and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz workers were ironed out in Swabi on Thursday.

The three parties vowed to carry out a joint election campaign across the district. A meeting to this effect was held at the residence of PPP district president Javed Inqlabi, in which local activists and candidates took part.

The parties announced they had settled their differences and said they would carry out a door-to-door drive to promote their election candidates.

Inqlabi said party workers in the PPP were united and would make an effort to strengthen the party.

Differences in the PPP’s ranks emerged after several workers were dissatisfied with the allotment of tickets, prompting some to contest the elections as independent candidates.
